Kia has introduced several new models at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show, with a refreshed version of the EV6 standing out. The updated design begins with a revamped front end, featuring reworked headlights that now include Kia’s “Star Map” lighting design. The new setup separates the light-emitting diode running lights and main headlights, giving the electric vehicle a sharper, more modern look. The rear also gets a refresh, with redesigned taillights that showcase a new internal structure. Inside the vehicle, updates include a redesigned steering wheel, a revamped center console, and more defined edges for the curved display that combines the driver information and infotainment screens.
These updates mirror changes that were introduced earlier this year when the revised EV6 debuted in South Korea. North American models now feature these same enhancements, including larger battery packs designed to improve driving range. The high-performance EV6 GT receives an additional innovation—Virtual Gear Shift technology. Borrowed from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, this feature mimics gear shifts, complete with sound effects and torque adjustments, to deliver a more dynamic and engaging driving experience. For enthusiasts, this creates a closer connection to traditional vehicle performance, even in an electric car.
Under the hood, the EV6 GT matches the performance of the Ioniq 5 N with a dual-motor powertrain delivering 601 horsepower. A temporary power boost can take this output to 641 horsepower, providing an extra thrill for spirited driving.
Kia America’s Chief Operating Officer, Steven Center, expressed pride in the EV6’s success and emphasized the brand’s commitment to innovation. He highlighted the refreshed model’s enhanced style, advanced technology, and improved features.
The 2025 Kia EV6 is set to arrive in showrooms by June next year, with pricing details expected closer to its release date.
