In the construction industry, it is important to have water on site. This is an easy task when remodeling or adding to existing structures. However, if you have a new structure or independent structure without a water source there are some steps you can take to gain access to water.
The first step is to call the city water department to apply for a city water hydrant meter. The application is simple but requires a deposit which varies based on the city. Once approved the city will place a water hydrant meter on the closet hydrant to the job site. This will provide a way to access the city water source and pay to use the amount of water needed. Once the project is completed simply call the city water department and they will pick up the meter.
